Simon Chaput : the visualisation of the female form and the movement of water - nudes and waterfalls at the Jackson Fine Art Gallery
Round, glistening mountain peaks in front of a black background. Or is it perhaps a woman lying down? Like white water, flowing from dark nothingness. Simon Chaput takes abstract photographs. His motifs are sometimes near impossible to decipher – which is exactly why they captivate our excitement and curiosity.
The born Frenchman has developed his own style of visualising the female form. He is devoted to the age-old tradition of nude photography. His waterfall images filter the essential movement of the water and present a pure flow.
Simon Chaput works with award-winning directors, producers, and for the past 25 years, in close collaboration with artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude. His images adorn walls all over the world: Australia, Germany, Mexico, Switzerland, Japan, France, Brazil – to name but a few. He lives in New York and works on an international scale.
The Jackson Fine Art Gallery in Atlanta presents the most striking images in a solo show until 22 May.
