Foam Talents 2011. The Dutch magazine presents 15 upcoming photography talents as a publication and exhibition in Amsterdam
Which trends are prevalent in photography today? Which subjects seem to stir the interest of young photographers from all over the world? And who will become Foam Magazine's Talent of 2011?
A total of fifteen young and inspiring artist have been chosen from over 800 applicants by the Dutch magazine: Fleur van Dodewaard (NL), Renato Abreu (BR), Lucas Blalock (US), Raphaël Dallaporta (FR), Jessica Eaton (CA), Mayumi Hosokura (JP), Alessandro Imbriaco (IT), Ina Jang (SK), Mirko Martin (DE), Ivor Prickett (IE), Florian van Roekel (NL), Gosha Rubchinskiy (RU), Katrien Vermeire (BE), Ester Vonplon (CH) and Alberto Salván Zulueta (ES).
The magazine's most recent issue presents the photographers on a comprehensive range of 264 pages. For the first time, the works by the upcoming generation will also be shown at FOAM MUSEUM.
GoSee presents a handful of snap shots from the private view. The exhibition will run until mid-December.
Another exhibition that is well worth seeing is the just opened 'The Future of the Photograph', in which four visiting authors express their perspectives and approaches. The authors are Jefferson Hack (UK, Co-founder and Editor-in-Chief Dazed and Confused), Alison Nordstrom (US, Director of Photographs, George Eastman House, International Museum of Photography and Film in Rochester), Erik Kessels (NL, Co-founder of KesselsKramer) as well as Lauren Cornell (US, Curator of the New Museum, NY and Executive Director of the New Museums Rhizome programme).
