Frank Linders : free motifs of the Cannstatter Folklore Fest and four images of the 3er BMW

Extended exposure of five hours, a single light source, the sun is transformed from a spot to a line, all dynamic processes dissolve and leave behind traces of their activity.

Release the shutter about 2.5 hours before opening and exposed for up to 2.5 hours. Including traces of the early morning delivery traffic, as well as afternoon visitors.

The 3 series BMW was photographed at the Wasen (www.wasen.de, the Stuttgart spring festival) after the event finished and while the ride were dissembled.

Due to the long exposure, the sun is reflected on the car as one long line.

Photographer Frank Linders comments “The light quality is completely new and not comparable with artificial light at all. By means of but a single light source over a long period of exposure time, the design of the vehicle as a whole was modulated”.
