Corbis Images and VII announce business cooperation

Just in time for 2011, Corbis Images underpinned its excellent editorial range with a new arrangement for picture distribution of VII's renowned photojournalists and documentary photographers.

VII was founded in 2001 and represents some of the most successful photojournalists in the world. The photo agency currently represents over 30 photographers, which specialise in documenting and discovering both violent and non-violent global conflicts, such as environmental protests and social or political unrests.

The VII collection encompasses over 50,000 pictures ranging from 1990 to today. The world’s largest and most renowned international publishing houses and ad businesses book VII photographers on a regular basis. The VII collection will be frequently updated with the latest images sold through Corbis Images.

“Together, the VII photographers pursue the collective goal of delivering the world's finest in photojournalism. Many of the pictures which are synonymous for the turbulent beginnings of the 21st century, have been produced by VII photographers and made accessible to the world”, says Gary Knight, founder of VII. “Our photographers have different motivations and goals that inspire them and it is that precise range, which provides VII with its originality and energy.”

VII photographers have been presented with dozens of awards all over the world. Their most famous projects include the documentation of the US Invasion of Panama, the US Invasion of the Iraq, the Gulf War, the Colombian drug war, as well as the wars in Afghanistan, Chechenia, Somalia and Yugoslavia.

They also photographed humanitarian crises, such as the Darfur tragedy and political heads of state, such as the American President, Barack Obama as well as the British prime minister, David Cameron.

“For a whole decade, VII's photographers have pursued their documentations and delivered breathtaking pictures which leave their mark all over the world. “, says Anil Ramchand, Director of News, Sports and Entertainment at Corbis. “Our new agreement with VII underpins our dedication to make exceptional images accessible to our clients, making it possible for them to tell inspiring stories.”

The new gallery is ready to view on the Corbis website and the Corbis Blog.
