NEW : photo4d, CGI workshop on 23./24.02.2012 in Münster, with lectures on 3D, CGI, Backplate etc by photography and CGI professionals, Catch the Early Bird until February 16

Matthias Langnet, founder of new GoSee member photo4D entertains a passionate interest in 3D solutions for photographic software. His clients are the vanguards of CGI technology. He regularly gathers professionals and experts from the business for exchange and education.

Hence, the new two-day CGI Workshop 2012 is just around the corner and it will see experts from market-leading companies in CGI and photography demonstrating how you can successfully work with CGI Technology. The event caters for photographers, 3D artists, agencies, manufacturers and anyone who wants to have a serious sit-down anything CGI-related or is planning to do so in the future.

Matthias Langner enthuses “The usability of 3D Software has arrived on a completely new level, intuitive creation in real-time is already the standard in professional software solutions. The possibility to directly utilise hard construction database from the clients for visual creation has skyrocketed to an unbelievable level.”

He goes on, “During the CGI Workshop on the 23rd and 24th of February 2012, we will be showing the current possibilities and what new discoveries and progresses can be expected to happen next week. Apart from spreading and inducing professional knowledge, we also offer the opportunity to make new and important contacts within a relaxed atmosphere.”

What can you expect to happen during a workshop? Here is a short overview . . .

− Presentation of current commissioned work and award-winning CGI-Productions
− Introducing CGI: requirements, positioning and development
− New photographic possibilities in 3D Software
− Workflow in a typical product visualisation. HDR on location. Vray as a render engine
− Which plugins make working on location easier?
− What things need to be taken into account when visualising data
− Technical and artistic boundaries and possibilities of current CGI Technology
− VRED goes MAC: First official demonstration
− Requirements of a CGI operator, backplate & multi-shot
− Innovations in 4D cinema and much more

The whole event will feature lectures and workshops – Pascal and Patrick Staud from GoSee member RENE STAUD STUDIOS will talk about the role of CGI and its development within their studio in a lecture and discuss how traditional photography, CGI and modern post-production are in a synergistic relationship.

When it comes to enhancing real photography with 3D content, a motif can quickly fall apart when the backplate's resolution cannot keep up with the resolution of the rendering. Thomas Böhringer from HASSELBLAD will demonstrate how the multi-shot procedure helps avoid this problem.

Ernesto Marents
will talk about 'Studio photography and CGI Supervising’ - The internationally renowned photographer is famed for his studio photography work in the automotive industry.

Once again, photographer and CGI specialist Steffen Schrägle will be part of the event and will hold a talk on professional HDR Imaging.

Joachim Lincke from Mackevision Medien Design GmbH is in charge of creation and production and offers some behind-the-scenes insights into the production process of the innovative workshop.

Arndt von Koenigsmarck is a MAXON Certified Instructor and has written books about 3D topics. He also offers visualisation services and develops his own plug-ins for CINEMA 4D software.

Is 3D projection just a fluke or a useful tool? Klaus Hilles will present the new digital technologies of Christiedigital.

CGI pioneer Peter Dudek will give a lecture about both the analogue and digital possibilities in CGI and exemplify that key thought behind this philosophy is a definite “As well As”.

VRED’s groundbreaking innovations enable photographers to design photo realistic pictures of a highly professional standard in the world of CGI, who can hold up their own when compared to digital photography. Apart from VRED Professional, VRED Photo, Alexander Grasse and Katharina Ehrke, Head of marketing PI-VR will provide an overview of the new version of VRED Essential.

Armin Brüning, Marketing coordinator of CT CoreTechnologie GmbH will discuss 3D evolution as a means of an efficient exchange of data structure.

Dirk Beicher of MAXON introduces the newest version of CINEMA 4D, which comes with a series of new functions that are of particular interest to photographers.

Furthermore, Matthias Langner will give a lecture, containing a brief run-down of the evolution of photography and he will explain why he opted not to buy a large-format camera again for the time being . . .
