SCREENings 2011 Jury : Achim Lippoth, photographer, director and KID'S WEAR editor - Art does not reflect what is visible, but is what is visible in itself

Achim Lippoth, born in Ilshofen in 1968 has been working as a freelance photographer since 1992 and as a director since 1998. The primary focus of his work: childhood.

Achim’s work is constantly being chosen for international awards and exhibitions. He was presented with his most recent awards at the Cannes and New York festivals in 2010. Recent exhibitions in 2010 included stops at the Galerie Paris – Beijing in Paris, the Shay Arye Gallery Tel Aviv and Catherine Edelman Chicago.

Furthermore, Achim is the founder and editor of KID'S WEAR, which has been published on an international scale since 1995.

His most recent projects include ad campaigns for Philips, Pampers, Aktion Mensch, as well as a cover shoot for Zeit Magazin, an editorial with Amy McDonald for ‘Die Zeit’ and an eight-page fashion campaign for American Eagle.

His favourite quote: “Art does not reflect what is visible, but is what is visible in itself.” (Paul Klee). We are looking forward to his judgment and his choice respectively regarding the SCREENings participants.
