Unit F : Vienna Fashion Week is fast approaching - with awards, shows and partys, and the festival campaign by Erwin Wurm

Vienna as a fashion hotspot? Really? Yes, really! At least that is what Karl Lagerfeld would have to say on the matter but it is not about him this time. This is about the 11th Festival for Fashion & Photography in early June and what Unit F managed to get together already and is planning for the future. The kick off already took place on the 7th of April in the festival headquarters – with delightfully daring surprises.

To set a merry tone for the launch, 500 guests were invited to the Museum für Völkerkunde to witness the new festival campaign, which we would not dream of depriving you of. Erwin WURM c/o SHOTVIEW specially created fashion sculptures from the designs of Austrian fashion labels such as Nora von Waldstätten or Mario Loncarski, as photographed by Elfie Semotan.

The boundaries between fashion and art are fluxionary and – as expected – ‘multo Wurm’.

Furthermore, London-based designer Marios Schwab showed off his spring/summer collection in a well-presented fashion show during the exclusive evening event. It was a great way to welcome a fashion fabulous June.

This year and for the first time ever, the Vienna Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Trade and Unit F Office for Fashion will be awarding the Production Award for Fashion. The award targets Austrian fashion designers who are active both on a national and international scale and have been present on the international market for a long time. The award is endowed with 10,000 EUR each for women’s and menswear. The collections that were designed with the prize money will be presented during the festival.
