Family Album - howitzweissbach's beach punk fashion causes a stir in the German idyll. Summer ahoy!
Where to settle down once you have graduated with a first from Kunsthochschule Burg Giebichenstein in Halle and, like Eva Howitz, you had worked at Walter von Beirendonck and Frieder Weissback respectively, gathering experiences in the business of Viktor & Rolf? Leipzig of course!
GoSee presents the second collection, titled 'Familienalbum' by Eva Howitz and Frieder Weissbach - the designer masterminds behind the newcomer label Howitzweissbach, which was founded in Leipzig and is currently showing in Paris.
The family we have the pleasure of exploring has a touch of yesterday. Baltic Sea romanticism drenched in white with lots of attention grabbing colour. That's about it when it comes to the similarities though.
Upon closer inspection the pieces show off particularly radical designs. What was rouched and straight, is now daring and refreshingly askew, a bit of punk and with a touch of retro beach. The absolute highlight and must haves are of course the knee socks, colourful and unique.
Howitzweissbach have – as ought to be expected – a production ethic with a mission: The label is exclusively produced locally in Germany, in one of the long-established production facilities in the Erzgebirge to be precise, Made in Germany.
