What you tell is not always what you have experienced - Hanna Hedman's beautifully melancholic jewellery creations
Swedish jewellery artist Hanna Hedman has just unveiled her latest collection, titled "What you tell is not always what you have experienced". She presents necklaces and collars, which decorate the neck like steel knitted plants. Inspired by lies, escapism, reality and fantasy, she formed her handmade one-offs using silver and coated copper.
Hanna Hedman’s pieces are particularly fascinating because of their stark contrasts: the material appears to be raw and unruly, sharp-edged and cold. This is juxtaposed with soft, organic shapes, which come across as filigree and almost fragile.
The artist carries out a developmental process with each piece. Like a story, with an open ending. Her renouncement of black and white, which is rather unusual for ornamental work, is more of a credo than a coincidence. GoSee presents a colour selection of her beautifully melancholic pieces, as photographed by Sanna Lindberg..
