Everyone else we caught up with .... and Part 2 of the GoSee Cannes Report
Obviously we caught up with even more nice and exciting people in Cannes. Such as the exciting London-based Franziska Dornheim (Rumba Baby!) of John Spary Associates .... and New York-based director Jimmy Diebold, whom we would like to introduce you to here. As well as the lovely AFS lads, who handed out Finger Ringdingers that went down well with everyone.
One of the most stunning all-round views of the harbour and old town was from Markenfilm’s roof terrace. If you missed out, go see our photos to share the experience.
There was also the D-A-CH party, organised by Werbeweischer, for all German speaking Cannes festival representatives – Germany, Austria and Switzerland, held at the end of the week. The location was the Place de la Castre, the castle square in Cannes’ old town.
“Germany’s advertisers will be leaving Cannes with 51 Lions in tow. Although the count is three lions less than the previous year, when you consider that the amount of entries was down by 25% it is even more of a success. A total of nine Golden Lions went to Germany. Passionate advertisers have never received this much Gold in Cannes before,” commented Boris Bullwinkel of Werbeweischer. Their Cannes report provides a good overview of Germany’s winning performance.
The Kodak Boat also deserves a mention. It was so well attended that we thought the boat would sink at any given moment. And Soup Film indulged their guests with delicious omelettes and an azure blue pool.
And as promised, here is the secret alternative to the dominating Martinez Bar. It is called Banana Blue and is just around the corner. Sorry girls, the cat is out of the bag! We’re sure no one will be able to remember by next year…
And last but not least, the second part of our trip. Those that weren’t in the first part might be able to spot themselves in this part. We would like to thank Rolf and the PICTORION team, particularly Michael, Sean and Lukas.
