Haus Der Vorstellung - do you like the campaign as much as we do?

We have to admit – we love the HORNBACH campaign – even if we do have to use the German polite plural when speaking to its creators. And the spots have of course won countless awards – but then that’s because they are so good.

At the VDW Awards in Frankfurt the creatives won the new Cross Media & Best use of Media category. Heimat Berlin GmbH were joined on the production by triggerhappyfilmproduktion.

HAUS DER VORSTELLUNG (the House of Imagination) first began when a derelict house was rented in Berlin for the filming of the (“If you can imagine…”) campaign for Hornbach DIY supplies.

The second part of the Imagination campaign involved the decoration of the abandoned house, but not just in any old standardised Swedish look, but according to the imaginations of 12 commissioned artists.

This was followed by step 3 – the House of Imagination was opened to the public – an unbelievable total of 25,000 visitors came to see the house and gain inspiration from HORNBACH, the media resonance was huge.

HORNBACH is a family run business, established over 130 years ago in 1877, today it employs around 13,000 people in six of the largest home improvement store chains in Europe. With over 120 outlets in 9 countries, HORNBACH have made it their mission to support passionate DIYers and their projects around Europe. Well that’s what it says on the website anyway.

With the “Torstraße 166 – House of Imagination” project HORNBACH wanted to inspire and feed people’s imagination. It certainly worked for us. Yabadabadoo!
