marsil presents : HERAKUT at Cologne's 1st Urban Art Festival Cityleaks 01, illustrations and spot on GoSee

Herakut, are two artists who have been working together under the pseudonyms of Hera and Akut since 2004.

The collaborative artistic endeavour focuses on urban art. Today their art is available in print for inside spaces, but the spray can remains the core aspect of their work. Their work encompasses painting as well as collages and installations that surpass standard spatial dimensions. They create a unique, cohesive world filled with melancholy and substantial humour. Akut is responsible for the sprayed photorealism while Hera puts her rough illustrations on top of the former.

The international Urban Art Festival Cityleaks 01 takes place from the 5th to the 25th of September in Cologne. The City Leaks 01 Festival is hosted by the charity art foundations Artrmx and Colorrevolution and they invited over 30 international artists from all over Europe, the USA and South America to come to Cologne in September 2011 and create their works in a public space, off-locations and galleries. And Herakut is of course a front-row participant.

During the festival, the invited artists such as international greats BLU (IT), Herbert Baglione (BR), Jim Avignon (D), Stefan Strumbel (D), Roa (BE), Faith47 (SA) will design legal stretches of wall as well as participating in exhibitions in galleries and off-locations.
