PICTORION das werk : A Dangerous Method, post production for David Cronenberg's Sigmund Freud film adaptation with Viggo Mortensen and Keira Knightley, as well as Part 3 of 'Vorstadtkrokodile' the film & summer fete at Werk Düsseldorf + Cannes pho

David Cronenberg’s new film “A Dangerous Method” is currently being filmed at MMC Studios in Cologne. It is based on the life of Sigmund Freud, with Viggo Mortensen and Keira Knightley in the leading roles. (Camera: Peter Suschitzky – The Empire Strikes Back!!).

The Toronto-born director’s ‘The Fly’ film was met with worldwide acclaim. He describes his way of making films as: "I have no rules. For me, it's a full, full experience to make a movie. It takes a lot of time, and I want there to be a lot of stuff in it.

You're looking for every shot in the movie to have resonance and want it to be something you can see a second time, and then I'd like it to be something you can see 10 years later, and it becomes a different movie, because you're a different person. So that means I want it to be deep, not in a pretentious way, but I guess I can say I am pretentious in that I pretend. I have aspirations that the movie should trigger off a lot of complex responses."

The main part of the VFX editing is headed by Mr.X production, Canada (www.mrxfx.com). PICTORION das werk provided on-set VFX consultancy support. Both parties were so satisfied with the outcome, that they have an additional project in the pipelines.

Die Vorstadtkrokodile (the suburban crocodiles) – Part 3 is a film based on the books by Max von der Grün.

Wolfgang Groos will direct part three, the sequel is produced by Christian Becker and Lena Olbrich or, in other words the Westside Filmproduktion GmbH & Rat Pack Filmproduktion GmbH.

Filming begins on 7 July, it will hit German cinema screens in mid January 2011 and the post production will be realised by PICTORION das werk (including editing, scanning, dust busting, colour grading und final mastering).

Summer fete – on 14 July, PICTORION das Werk, in cooperation with TURNTABLEWERBERN and FunDeMental sound studios, will celebrate the opening of the German tour of the NGDS by Saatchi & Saatchi, Frankfurt.

Michael Brink from PICTORION das werk says: “Following the great success of the official ADC-Festival opening party in Frankfurt, we are touring Germany together. Cool drinks and barbeque treats will be served. The TURNTABLEWERBER will be the musical highlight of the evening. The evening will kick off with the presentation of the New German Directors Showcase (approx 30 Min) with Michael Maschke, Head of TV at Saatchi & Saatchi.”
