Timo SCHAEDEL explores a world greater than the sum of its parts for SUBARU Car Parts - and wins 1st prize at the YDA 2011. Background info on GoSee !

Timo SCHAEDEL c/o DBC created the CAR PARTS film for SUBARU with unbelievable precision, winning him first prize in the Young Director Award’s ‘European Branded Shortfilms’ category.

The young director tells GoSee: ‘I won the internationally advertised pitch – but with a different script. I was then asked if I could develop another idea. I could. And I did. I had plenty of creative freedom… It took a lot of courage for the client to go down such an unusual path.

In eight weeks we managed to deconstruct a (virtual) car down to the last screw and to put it back together in a way that has been seen before. Entirely in 3D, except for the room. The room is in the Deichtorhalle Hamburg, which was empty for just one day for the first time in many years.

A team of over 15 people spent days and weeks meticulously covering the empty screen in pieces. Many thanks to everyone.’

And client SUBARU was equally as pleased : "To suit Subaru's new brand statement, imaginary driving scenes were developed consisting entirely of Subaru (car) parts and composed into a film, all with the aim of creating a fresh visual impact using driving images that have never been seen before."
