GoSee London Tip : Life as an Illustrator ! Jelly London and The Young Creative Council host an illustrative evening with Matt Lyon and Alison Carmichael
Jelly and The Young Creative Council organised a two-part illustration themed event in London on the 28th of July. Guest speakers Matt Lyon and Alison Carmichael granted a view behind the scenes and revealed what it means to work as a successful illustrator.
Alison Carmichael is an internationally renowned typography expert. Her expertise in all things letter art made her one of the most successful commercial artists in all of England. Alison works for big ad campaigns and small creative projects. She has already received several awards in the advertising industry.
Matt Lyon left his mark on the British illustration scene with his highly recognisable and colourful illustration style and managed to conquer our hearts at the same time. His works range from typography to large psychedelic landscapes, which are scattered with boars, rockets, rainbow and other playful things. By the way – you can still snatch the odd ill-shirt in the Supermarket on his website.
he masterminds behind The Young Creative Council are a bunch of young advertising talents, who are based in top ad agencies in London and the surrounding area. The project supports young creative professionals and helps them to establish themselves in the business. The collaboration between the illustration agency Jelly London and The Young Creative Council is set to continue in the future. Watch this space!
Life as an illustrator! Took place on the 28th of July at 7pm in the Tag’s Bar, Clerkenwell Road, London. Matt Lyon's and Alison Carmichael's Talks were very interesting and insightful. They talked about their inspiration and influences and their standing in today's advertising world. There was a Q&A session afterwards where the audience could ask the creative double act questions.
