IdN Magazin v17n2 : Retro Graphics - or un-pc and imperfect in the shiny here and now ?

Is a counter-revolution picking up speed against the perfect and cool-smooth world that modern technology has presented to our artistic endeavours and us?

The times when art works were covered in the handwriting of the artist and their individual fights and endeavours in pursuing the perfect impression are long gone.

And the saying ‘the journey is its own reward’ falls on most ears like a hollow echo – as if it were from the Cretaceous Age.

IdN says : “More and more artists, it seems, are taking a trip back to those less-exacting days. Call it ‘nostalgia art’, call it ‘retro’, it holds a lot of appeal for a lot of designers.”

We agree – the current issue presents its readers with work by Aesthetic Apparatus, Doe Eyed Design, Doublenaut, Jim Datz, Jimmy Turrell, Middle Boop, Pandayoghurt and Tyler Stout.
