Marjukka Vainio - Kimono : first solo exhibition at TAIK Gallery in Berlin

Wherever you look the Helsinki School pops up everywhere. We highly recommend the ‘Kimono’ solo exhibition by Marjukka Vainio.

‘Kimono’ – works from the "Red" ( 2006-2010) and "Birch" (2006-2010) series as well as several still life motifs.

Marjukka’s botanic motifs are all about transience and the resulting temporality of even the smallest of things.

The artist explains "The title of the exhibition alludes to two areas :the world of plants - a theme with which I have already worked for some time - and oriental aesthetics, which have a history going back thousands of years."

The TAIK gallery was founded in 1995 in Helsinki, Finland and primarily shows the artists of the ’Helsinki School’.

Since 2003, they own their own exhibition space in Berlin-Mitte. We recommend a visit!
