Anette Blase : Agate Blue and Quartz Black - the new SLICED carpet collection by JAN KATH

Lars Langemeier photographed internationally renowned carpet designer JAN KATH’s new ‘sliced’ collection.

From Arabian palaces, to Rupert Murdoch’s New York penthouse, to the private suites of the Four Seasons in Cairo, on to the luxury yacht of an oil billionaire, or the showrooms of important Parisian fashion houses – Jan Kath’s carpet are everywhere.

The location for the ‘sliced’ collection isn’t just a homage to the Ruhr area in Germany as Europe’s Cultural Capital of 2010, but is also the home of the multi-award winning company and photo designer Lars Langemeier’s location of choice.

Oktober Kommunikationsdesign has created yet another bold visual catalogue using the carpet images with names such as ‘Agate Blue’, ‘Quartz Black’ and ‘Emerald Green’.

Following so many beautiful creative impressions, Lars acquired a longing for his own rug art. Using one of his photographs as a pattern, he collaborated with Jan’s creative department to create his own 6,000-knot piece.

The result of Lars’ vision is of course a ‘Special Deer’. His self-designed carpet can be admired at his photo studio in Solingen, near Düsseldorf and Cologne.

He shot some pixels in Madrid, that are just as eye-catching as his knots, for a leading worldwide solar energy provider. The latest information on this project can be obtained via his Berlin-based agent Anette Blase.
