During his two-year journey through Germany for DEUTSCHE BAHN rail, Dirk Wiedlein photographed the largest European harbour in Duisburg. Home to seven very modern container-terminals, it is an essential gateway between the European inland and the sea towns of Antwerp, Rotterdam and Amsterdam. It is done, Florian WAGNER returned to Munich in good spirits. “The expedition to Mount Shishapangma was a thrilling, fascinating and educational adventure in the Tibetan part of the Himalayas”, explains the photographer. Commissioned by the outdoor-equipment supplier MAMMUT, he photographed Alpinist Sebastien de Sainte Marie during his attempt to be the first ever to travel the mountain on skis.
