Michael Heinsen : Bangkok - Metropolis of Contradictions. Presented at the Photography Triennial Hamburg 2011, as well as on GoSee.

Michael Heinsen presents impressions of a metropolis of contradictions – of Bangkok. Humble huts stand next to towering skyscrapers, derelict yards rub shoulders with bustling streets… and the people vary just as greatly as their city. Sunshine follows rain and night is as lively as day.

Michael Heinsen immersed himself in the city with producer Eva Steffens from GoSee Member KINGSCROSS. The people and the night-lights inspired him. We have attached an overview.

Michael produced the Bangkok series for the ‘1 QM Freiheit – hoch drei’ exhibition. From 31. March until 2. April, BFF members will present their exhibits daily at the Photography Triennial Hamburg 2011, at Westwerk (Admiralitätsstraße).

From the wall, to the floor, to the ceiling – the exhibition projects provides photographers with great creative freedom. Except for one little challenge: each designer is presented with the ‘1 QM Freiheit’ exercise – as in one metre squared of exhibition space, which changes daily. The exhibition is accompanied by evening events, changing DJs and live music.
