Rene Staud Photography : VW BEETLE between urban city life and barren landscapes, innovative visual language for the AUDI A8L launch in China

Staud Studios, Leonberg realised the photo productions for the third generation of the classic Volkswagen BEETLE in Northern Italy and Berlin. The visual worlds contrast the picturesque outlines of the Dolomites with the elegantly minimalist design of the vehicle on and the Beetle likewise suits Berlin’s urban flair.

The production between Cortina d’ Ampezzo and Sellajoch led the Beetle along the footsteps of its predecessors and is described by the BEETLE MAGAZINE as ‘Another Milestone in a legendary story’.

The Berlin photo series on the other hand sends the Beetle to the jazzy and fancy corners of the city as well as through historic and touristy parts.

René Staud Photography realised a series of spectacular motifs for the AUDI A8L’s introduction to the Chinese market. The imaginative visual approach is inspired by the application of the law of nature with a great eye for detail.

The concept was conceived at Lintas in Beijing and spoofs the old-fashioned view regarding a car and its possibilities.

“Asphalt and gravel are yesterday’s news when it comes to road surfaces, the portrayal of the Audi A8L takes place on clouds, water and the bottom of the sea”, explains René Staud after the launch of the campaign, which is being promoted across China to celebrate the 2011 Autoshow.

The production in Beijing and Leonberg was completely organised and carried out by the Staud Studios Team. Patrick Staud was the photographer. The photographs of the vehicles as well as individual background elements took place on location in Beijing, while the Staud Studios Team in Leonberg carried out the retouch, composing and post-production.
