Michel Jaussi : new AUDI Q3 and A6 in the snow, landscape shots for KROMBACHER and dramatic landscape series from France
This autumn, Michel Jaussi had the pleasure of realising another winter shoot for AUDI Switzerland. The wintry pictures will also be used as ad motifs in other European countries.
The brief was to create a portrait of the new AUDI Q3 and the A6 in the midst of a snowy landscape, one driving motif and four fixed motifs each. For this purpose, Michel had to ascend the staggering heights of the Italian Alps to ensure that the autumn production would yield pictures full of snow. Thanks to his comprehensive winter picture archive, it was easy to cleverly furnish the production with all necessary additions in hindsight.
The post-production was entrusted to GoSee member PATRICK SALONEN. Barbara Wernli and Stefanie Koch supervised the project on behalf of the client.
The KROMBACHER Sensory Experience Room at Kreuztal Brewery called for the realisation of gigantic landscape motifs. Three motifs were created for the room's interior walls and another one to serve as sky adorning the ceiling of the new beer experience room.
The huge landscape motifs were produced near the brewery and depict the brewery's local mountain. The motif measures 18 metres in length and sports a resolution of half a billion pixels! Looking at it, one almost feels each and every tree on the horizon and all the little blades of grass in front.
In order to achieve such a high resolution, some motifs had to be constructed out of 36 individual pictures. The barley motif was also created in the Sauerland and the team travelled south of Holledau in Bavaria to capture the hops motif. The motifs were fine tuned to tie in with the idyllic visual trademark of KROMBACHER: lots of green, even more blue and lovely weather.
Patrick Salonen once again took care of the post production and handling the enormous amounts of data. The project was supervised by the two creative heads Andreas Gnass and Valerie Rapp of the U9 Agency. Peter Latz was involved on behalf of the client.
Michel Jaussi's opulent landscape motifs on the other hand are far more dramatic. Vast, forlorn, open landscapes that were taken in the forgotten corners of France show a dance of shadows in between the sun and the clouds. Even a freelance production like this demands a lot of patience and endurance if one really wants to capture the essence of the moment. GoSee member Patrick Salonen ensured the essence looked as sharp and even in postproduction.
