Stefan Falke : set photos for Ludwig II and portraits of actress Sabin Tambrea, beach report on Rockaway Beach for ADAC magazine, new cover for Catherine Russell, Fake Polaroids and his La Frontera project

Stefan Falke stayed in Bavaria and Austria to the end of 2011. He photographed the set photographs and marketing motifs for 'Ludwig II', a film by Peter Sehr and Marie Noelle for Warner Bros and Bavaria Pictures. The photographs are still under lock and key, but a series with the main lead protagonist Sabin Tambrea was produced during the shoot. The film will hit the cinemas by the end of 2012.

He also had the pleasure of working in his hometown of choice New York for the ADAC travel magazine. His series about Rockaway Beach in Queens and photographs of musicians in New York subway stations were published in New York magazine.

Stefan Flake photographed the fourth cover for the Jazz/Blues singer Catherine Russell. The highly praised and very busy musician also sings with Steely Dan. Her new solo album 'Strictly Romancin'' will be available in store from the 14th of February.

His series of iPhone photographs are called 'Fake Polaroids' and were exhibited last week at Apple 5th Avenue, Apple’s main headquarters in New York. The German Welt Kompakt magazine has also shown an interest in the photographs.

He is currently preparing for an exhibition of his long-term project 'La Frontera' in Tijuana/Mexico on the 9th of March. The exhibition features pictures by artists working on the borderline between the US-Mexican states. With this project, the photographer wants to show that despite the difficult situation in the border regions and the predominant occurrence of violence and a borderline made from steel, people on both sides engage in an active artistic and cultural life, exerting a positive influence within this challenging context.

For this project, Stefan Falke plans to travel along the entire border and take photographs. Stefan will also hold a three-day photography workshop parallel to his exhibition on Tijuana.
