Magic Mountain Productions : natural products for the WASCHBÄR environmental catalogue, new BON PRIX collections, LEICA stunts & jumps and Marketing Tour of Europe

Magic Mountain Productions had a lot of fun with the WASCHBÄR team last month. The latest environmentally friendly mail order catalogue was produced in and around sunny Cape Town.

Pete Ruppert perfectly captured the autumn feeling in Cape Town’s Nature Reserves as well as winter atmosphere on Cape Town’s Sylt-like sand dunes.

Stylist Ute Sillmann presented the attention to detail of her creative side and Carola Linder from advertising agency, Form Farbe Idee, was in charge of Art Direction. Click here to watch the making-of.

Admembers Advertising was also back in Cape Town to produce another BON PRIX shoot with Hellmut Schulze-Wenck. Creative head, Hushang Omidizadeh, made sure that each picture created a story without losing focus on the collection. Karin Degener styled the outfits.

Sabina, Director of Magic Mountain Productions, and Mark Shaw, Operations Manager, are in the process of setting up their marketing tour of Europe. Once again, Magic Mountain organised this season’s photo and film shoots for LEICA. German photographer MAIK SCHARFSCHEER was the DoP, Thomas Stoll was the cameraman.

Creative director Felix Duerichen from the Argonauten G2 agency had the adrenaline charged idea to capture moments with the new LEICA V-Lux 30 camera – but not any old moments mind you: Street Trials Pro Rider Danny McAskill was flown in specially from Scotland, to show off his mountain bike stunts. Up and down trees, along railings, hopping off bridges and roofs.

The complete team held their breath when Danny decided to jump from one side of the legendary ‘Cut Off Highway’ in Cape Town to the other – at 30m height. But the pro has undeniably unique talent and no one could talk him out of jumping from stacked containers. He is probably the best when it comes to see his sport.

Maik Hofmann, Argonauten G2 Director in client service and LEICA Marketing & Communication Manger Johannes Fischer agreed: “This shoot was awesome and mind blowing”.

Magic Mountain Productions arranged all the locations, equipment and props. Director Sabina Jakob, Operations-Manager Mark Shaw and Office Coordinator Annika Ziehen ensured each shoot ran smoothly.

From their arrival in Cape Town International Airport to location scouting, permits, to the essential ice cold drinks and catering. They always provided a comfortable basis, regardless if the production was taking place in the city, on the beach or in the mountains.

Sabina und Mark Shaw are currently planning a marketing tour of Europe. Watch out! South African ‘Get Togethers’ are planned in Munich, Frankfurt and Hamburg, as well as other locations.
