Superstudio, Hamburg : masquerade for CODE B, German punk singer BELA B.'s second solo album
Konstanze Habermann photographed German punk musician BELA B. for his new album "Code B" at Hamburg’s SUPERSTUDIO. Assistants Pierrot Höpfner, Torben Massdorf and Julius Struckmann used plenty of smoke and mirrors on set. Bela wears suits by luxury tailor and customisation specialist Herr von Eden, who has also provided the outfits for a whole host of other musicians.
The title of the new album calls to mind secret agent films and their 1960s soundtracks. Bela was particularly inspired by James Bond films whilst writing his songs. He has been publicly fighting against Nazis for several years, so the world of secret agents and their fight against the world’s evil is a familiar subject area.
Make-up artist Simone Butz took care of the singer/songwriter’s look, the styling was carried out by Adelaida Cue. The key prop in the shoot was the BELA B. mask, which Anja Bissinger and Arndt von Hoff created with an episode of Mission Impossible in mind. Graphic support was lent by Kai Erdmann, with assistance from Katzarina Scharper, the post production was led by Til Schlenker, Martin Kuhlmann and Tommy Szewczuk.
