Agentur Linke : presents fashion and beauty photographer Armin MORBACH at UPdate Frankfurt

Mariane Linke will present beauty expert Armin MORBACH’s book at the UPdate. Before he began taking photographs himself, he had already made his mark as an international hair and make-up artist and editor of the TUSH beauty bible. He now translates his instinct for fashion and aesthetics and his professional experiences of the past twenty years into inspiring images.

His career began in the late 1980s with an apprenticeship at Vidal Sassoon, followed by residencies in New York, Miami, London, Amsterdam, Vienna and Paris. He established himself as a make-up artist and moved to Hamburg in 1994, from where he works for magazines such as Vogue, GQ, Elle, Wallpaper and Marie Claire.

In the ‘90s, his style influenced the look of magazines including Wallpaper, Qvest and Style and the Family Tunes. He worked with photographers such as Greg Lewis, Michel Comte, Ralph Mecke, Patrick Demarchelier and Ellen von Unwerth, and realised his ideas on and with beauty icons including Claudia Schiffer, Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell and Diane Kruger.

Armin Morbach has been the trend visionary and hair expert for Schwarzkopf since 2001. In 2003, he founded Ballsaal; his agency for hair, make-up, styling, art direction, ... In 2005, he realised his dream of a platform for his visual language and imagination with TUSH magazine.

In 2008, Morbach took the Maison de la Beauté to another level. After two decades of observing and working with the world’s greatest photographers, he grabbed a camera himself in 2008 and autodidactically realised what he had learnt from his observations.
