Andre Fradique for Liberdad Provisoria by EDC

"Liberdad Provisoria" is a temporary Art Space created by Andre Amalio. He has no idea how long they can stay but will have one month notice to clear the premises which are to be renovated into luxury apartments on one of the main avenues here in Lisbon "Avenida da Liberdade" (nº220, 3º ) just above the "Emporio Armani" boutique. It is an atelier/gallery & rehearsal space incorporating all forms of the arts.

For example dance and theatre companies and individual artists in residency. photographers & musicians, artists are invited to work with the space to create a rather unique experience for a very divers public - they even offer classes! All this done to create a bridge between artist and visitor personalizing the exchange between the two.

On Fridays and Saturdays there are performances (dance/theatre and or a concert) which culminates in an exchange between the artists involved and their audience. As well on these two days a modest however charming bar is all part of the program.

This month the gallery is focused on individuals and their work : Currently in the Gallery is the work of Visual Artist in residence Andre Fradique whose work borders on the religious (see photos) his take on Catholicism through his unique introspective gives a sense of the familiar with a twisted humour!

"Liberdad Provisoria" is an absolute must see to anyone living in Lisbon as well as those just visiting. A true taste of what is possible in a time of financial turmoil and a breath of fresh air to those interested in a non subsidized Arts experience...
