Rinko Kawauchi's new publication Illuminance - new everyday images by the Japanese photo poet published by Kehrer Verlag

Rinko Kawauchi’s work (as reported by GoSee) has been the subject of praise quite a few times, for her nuanced colouring and stylish composition, as well as ability to create moments of eternity out of fleeting little details, thus restoring their pertinence in a world that is becoming louder, brighter and faster by the day.

In ‘Illuminance’, Rinko continues her examination of the special details pervading everyday life, magically attracted to the fundamental cycles of life and the seemingly coincidental, fragmented order of nature in formal structures.

Presented in a precious clothbound book made using traditional Chinese bookbinding techniques, the impressive volume full of primarily unreleased pictures is another testimonial of her sensibility.

By the way, this is the first book of hers that is being published outside of Japan.
